Shizuka, a pastry chef, suffered a head injury accident which made him forgot what meant the most to him – his lover, Yukihiko. Now Yukihiko accepted this destiny and decided to live his life separated from the love of his life. But somehow, Shizuka did not know why but he felt his self becoming more interested in a man who he does not have any memory of. Will he be able to regain his memories?
Kowagaranai de, Soba ni Ite was incredibly beautiful. The artwork was amazing. There were clean lines which made it very easier to read the panels when ever someone was speaking. And also, the characters all looked different which I appreciate. It just made the manga even more intriguing for me to read. Furthermore, the simplicity of the plot was amazing. Even though it was a common plot, It definitely brought tears to my eyes. I just could not believe that Shizuka forgot about the love of his life but remembered everything else. And to make matters worst, Yukihiko just allowed it to happen. I understand why he did not fight for Shizuka’s love but I felt as though he just gave up too quickly. He was okay with losing his happiness just so Shizuka can have his happiness. But he failed to realize that Shizuka is the happiest when he is with Yukihiko. It really broke my heart. Another thing too, I love how Shizuka ends up falling in love with him all over again without realizing it. It was amazing to watch how he adores Yukihiko, and how much he wanted to be closer to him. He was willing to risk it all just so he can stay by Yokihiko’s side. Their love story was beautiful. Give this one a read when you have a chance and let me know what you think.
